Tilt or tap? Setting up controls in arcade racers

Every time I install an arcade racer like Neon Drift Rally, the first thing I do is head into settings, and I think more people should. The default control scheme is rarely the one you'll settle on, and a bad setup makes a good game feel broken.

Tilt steering feels natural for wide, flowing tracks. You lean your phone and the car responds, and once you dial the sensitivity down a notch it becomes second nature. The problem is tight corners, where tilt can overshoot.

Tap steering gives you more precision on technical tracks but takes some getting used to. My advice is to try both for a few races each before deciding. Muscle memory forms fast, so switching later feels awful.

Whatever you pick, spend two minutes on the sensitivity slider. Too high and the car twitches; too low and it feels like steering a boat. Getting this right is the difference between fighting the game and enjoying it.
