How I stopped losing boss fights in turn-based RPGs

For a long time my approach to mobile RPGs was to grind levels until a boss folded. It works, but it's slow and boring. Playing through Embershard Legends forced me to actually think about party composition, and it made every fight more interesting.

The lesson that stuck: a balanced party beats a strong one. You want someone who controls the pace, someone who deals damage, and someone who keeps everyone alive. Stacking damage feels good until a boss punishes you for having no defense.

Skill trees are where you make this real. Instead of dumping everything into obvious damage nodes, I started reading what each ability actually does in a fight. Half the good options are quiet utility skills that don't look flashy but win you turns.

If you're stuck on a wall in any turn-based game, try rebuilding your party before you grind. Nine times out of ten the problem is composition, not levels. It saved me hours.
